Perception or Reality?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Maybe some of you (three) avid readers have had this conversation/argument. That perception frames an individual’s reality, or that reality is reality whether or not it is ever perceived for what it is.

I’ll try to be as fair to both sides as possible, so let’s start. The arguement for perception is this: perception is reality, meaning that how a person sees something is reality I.E. John Doe thinks that if a tree falls down in the forest and nobody’s there to hear it, it didn’t make a sound and for that matter it may have never fallen at all. Simply the fact that it wasn’t perceived by anyone means that it didn’t happen.

In contrast the realist believes that if a tree fell in the forest “of course it made a sound dumbass! physics proves that!” to which the perception promoter quips “they’ve only tested what they’ve seen, maybe if they could test an unperceived tree falling in the forest” Which would prompt reality man to reply “You’re such an idiot, how can they test something that is unperceived? you’d have to see and hear it to test that theory and if you do that you would be ruining the experiment because you’re there!” as you can see attempting to acquiesce either side would be moot, and both parties would be mooters! though mooters may or may not be a real word is beyond the point, I perceive it as a legitimate word, so it is.

So, perhaps this arguement is a bit more logical, one person sees the color red, but to them it appears the same color as another person sees blue, now the fact that they were told since preschool that the colors were the colors doesn’t change the fact that one person sees blue as someone else sees red, so that person’s perception would be different so their reality as it pertains to that color would be different. Or the realist would say that all eyes have the same optical receptors and that only if a person was color blind would someone see color in a different way than another because all humans have the same equipment.

New Layout

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

My brother just made me a new layout for the site that is like one billion times better than the original. So here it is, I also added the blog to the site.

Oh yeah, I will be making some new comics soon… I just have so little time and so much I want to do. I will start prioritizing everything I want to do using this uber cool task manager (Task Coach), I found… from a link that was sent to me from my brother.

Not that any one I don’t know is reading this, but yeah… soon.

Religious Hypocracy, Shirley Phelps-Roper

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

So, if you haven’t heard, Heath ledger is in fact dead. To make things even worse for those in his family the fundamentalist Shirley Phelps-Roper, a controversial “Christian” (the reason I put quotes around Christian is because I don’t ever remember a single piece in any scriptural passage that says that you can judge anyone, including people that are homosexual), is attempting to ruin any peace for those mourning who she deems a sinner and, currently, a citizen of hell. In the gospel of Matthew it says “Judge not, that ye be not judged” Matt 7:1. Not even Jesus of Nazareth Judged, when confronted with a mob who had brought before him an adulterer, he said in john 8:7 “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” Now, you may or may not know that Shirley has an illegitimate son, so that was fornication, and last time I checked, fornication is a sin that is much akin to homosexual relationships in the fact that neither are condoned by scripture and both are against true Christian writ.

In a news article by ABC news online she is quoted as saying “Heath Ledger is now in Hell, and has begun serving his eternal sentence there…” 1

It is possible that Shirley has a different version of the bible, something like the so called “Wicked Bible” which contained a single error in print, it said “thou shalt commit adultery” instead of “thou shalt not.” Perhaps her version of the bible has a different version of the ten commandments that says something like thou shalt not let a mourning family have peace. Or what you think is right just because you say like the crusaders did “God wills it!” and it is irrefutable because you profess to know the will of god.

Had Shirley any inkling of the methods of god she would not be so antagonistic of any person, for did Jesus say hate the sinner and love only the righteous. Nope, he in fact said in Matt 5:44 “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”. O.K. so even the worst of enemies you’re supposed to love. interesting that this is less than a hated enemy this is a man who was just doing his job in entertaining the nation.

In conclusion this inconceivably naive, hateful, scornful, shortsighted, cruel, unchristian “woman” needs one more piece of scripture to show her the error that she is in (though I doubt even if she read and could comprehend past her enraged mind and illogical thought process it would do any good). Didn’t Jesus say in Matt 25:40 “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” So it is a scriptural fact that what you do to any of your brethren you’ve done it to Jesus. Maybe someone should tell her that if she were a real Christian she would not be condemning anyone of going to hell, and that in doing so she is saying that Jesus is going to hell.

Reminiscent of ‘Office Space’

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Do you work in a place where the bosses don’t know what their doing, they’re supposed to be supervising or managing, but don’t seem to do either. Let me tell you that I know almost what you’re going through. I work as a letter carrier for the U.S.P.S. and let me tell you, my boss is a lot like the guy on office space. When he needs you to do something extra that day he’ll walk up (cup of coffee in hand) and say in a monotone voice something to the effect of “hey… if you could just pick up a couple of hours of work from (so and so) that would be great thank you.” on the last syllable I just want to dump his hot stale coffee on top of his bald head. because if I don’t do the extra work in the original allotment he’ll say stuff like “so did you get stuck” or “you might not want to take a double lunch tomorrow.” Perhaps you’ve wondered why the people on the bottom get crap from people in the middle. first off I’d like to mention that without the people on the bottom, NOTHING would get done, secondly we could easily do without the time consuming middle managers, if we could just work and know what was expected of us it would probably be more efficient than with supervisory “guidance.” which brings me to the reason for middle managers, time and money management. It’s probably some scheme thought up by the CFO of the company or something so as to decrease productivity to reduce profits and increase pay so that their taxes are cheaper. Or upper management had nothing to do so they invented jobs that didn’t need to exist because it made their jobs viable.

Maybe it’s time for a new paragraph, so in conclusion 42 is the answer to life the universe and everything. So, when you have a question write it down, then write just below it “Answer: 42″ Poof you have all the answers, or the answer. But is the question life the universe and everything or is it that any question that falls into that category that it is the answer to. hmmm… anyway it’s right anyway you write it.

Working Too Much

Friday, January 18th, 2008

For the last few weeks I have been working way too much. Also I am getting used to my new tablet, forcing myself to do all my drawing using it for a while. Looks like my work for the comic will be more cartoonish in the future but maybe not.

I am almost done with my lame PokéMon web site, at least the PokéMon list. Once the list is up I will be making a walk through and then giving catching data for all the other regions.

I am still deciding whether to do a game page on something new or going with Metroid, Metroid 2: The Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Metoird Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission. I love the Metroid series but I will be separating them by the game type (The Prime series is 3D and the rest are 2D or Pinball).
